  8. Extremely rare, the giant panda became an endangered species

  12. Although it looks like a bear, the giant panda is more closely

  14. related to the racoon family.  When eating its main food, bamboo

  16. shoots, the giant panda uses its front paws almost like hands.

  18. It must eat approximately 10 hours a day just to survive.

  20. An adult giant panda may grow to be 6 feet long and weigh up to

  22. 300 pounds.  Generally shy and even tempered, a giant panda may

  24. become bad-tempered in its old age.
